Day 16: Food, Contentment, and Space for the Gospel
Better to be a Profrog than an amateur amphibian.
Profrog's Place
Professor. Pastor. Worship Leader. Family man. Christ-follower.
My name is Randy Rogers. I am an Associate Professor of Biblical Studies in the School of Christian Studies at Wayland Baptist University with a Ph.D. in Theology with an emphasis in New Testament studies. I have over 25 years of practical pastoral experience, academic study, and classroom expertise. It is my desire to see each student grow in head (knowledge), heart (passion), and hands (practice) as they prepare to fulfill their calling from our Lord Jesus Christ.
How can I help your local church?
I can help your local church with preaching, teaching, worship, and leadership training.
EDUCATION
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Having felt God’s calling to ministry since I was in junior high school, I attended Hardin-Simmons University (BA, 1990, MA 1995) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDIV 1995, PHD 2002) in preparation for training future church leaders and leading churches in ministry and missions.
PASTORAL EXPERIENCE
I have spent over 20 years in Texas churches, and I understand the joys and the struggles of the small and medium-sized church. I have been blessed immensely by the Christian people who make up these local congregations.

A Thematic Approach to Revelation
2019 at FBC Lockney, Tx
Overview: the following study provides a look at 10 key themes in the book of Revelation. By choosing a thematic approach over a future fulfillment approach, the student will be able to see the depth of John’s understanding of God, Jesus, and other significant theological truths within his own historical context. See an outline in the link below.
Seminar on Worship: Worship is Transformation
2018 at Wayland Baptist University
This seminar takes a theological look at the transforming nature of the worship of God. Worship is intended to be more than singing or music. Worship is a an encounter with a living God. And once we have encountered a living God, we cannot help but be changed by being in his presence. The stories of Isaiah, Paul, and the church in Rome all illustrate this truth. see the link below for a teaching outline.
Living as a Nation of Priests
2015 at Hale Center, Tx
A look at the role of the Christian through the eyes of Hebrews and 1 Peter. Both of these authors saw the priesthood as a significant image for Christian maturity. Hebrews focuses on Jesus' role as high priest, and Peter focuses on how Christians should follow the path that Jesus blazed.
